Peach Cobbler

3 cups sliced fresh peaches
¾ cup sugar
3 T flour
2 T lemon juice
2 T butter

Topping
2 cups flour
½ t salt
4 t baking powder
1 T sugar
1/3 c butter
1 egg, well beaten
¾ cup milk

Put peaches in a greased baking dish.
Mix together sugar and flour. Sprinkle over the peaches. Sprinkle the lemon juice and then dot with butter.
For topping, sift dry ingredients and mix in butter until mixture is like coarse crumbs. Add combined egg and milk and mix until just moistened.
Drop dough in mounds over peaches.
Bake in a 425°F oven for 30 minutes.

Serves 8
