Guest Blogger: ColtPixy

My Guest Blogger is Angelina Star Edwards aka ColtPixy

Tell me about your business ColtPixy.
I have studied art and crafts my entire life. I really don't have a favorite medium to work with because I love them all. For many years I did nothing but paint. My favorite mediums are acrylics and watercolor. For a while I was obsessed with quill pens and ink.

My husband introduced me to stained glass. I love working with glass but there is a LOT of scrap. I hate wasting anything so soon discovered mosaics. For about 10 years I rarely made anything but mosaics. In the past few years I have discovered that I really am happier not limiting myself to just that.
With the freedom of using different mediums came the ability to explore, learn and express myself more freely.

Preferring things that are one of a kind, I try to make things that are one of a kind. When I do reproduce something I incorporate subtle differences so that they are not exactly alike. Two roses on a vine are both similar but there are subtle differences that make each unique.
Right now my focus is mainly on polymer clay.

Do you have a blog?
Yes, ColtPixy is my personal blog. I show things I am working on, works in progress, etc. You can visit it here. http://ColtPixy.com I also have Polymer Clay Smooshers blog which you can visit here. Polymer Clay Smooshers http://polymerclaysmooshers.blogspot.com/

What are Polymer Clay Smooshers?
Polymer Clay Smooshers is a group of artists and crafters who work with or incorporate polymer clay into our work. We are the Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild of Art Fire. I am the guild master (leader) of this group.

What recipe are you sharing? Charleston Coconut Pie

Charleston Coconut Pie

Preheat oven to 350º F.
Grease 10 inch pie plate.

Ingredients:
4 beaten eggs
½ cup self-rising flour
1 1/3 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
8 oz. flaked coconut

Combine all ingredients and pour into prepared pie plate. Bake 45 minutes. Carefully remove from oven as pie will be jiggly until it cools.
Cool completely before serving.

This is an old recipe. I love it because the pie forms its own crust. It is one of my mother-in-laws favorites and I love how big she smiles when she sees it coming to the table.
